The Impact Of COVID-19 In Social And Family Life

COVID-19 affects different people in different ways. Most affected people will develop mild to moderate symptoms. The common symptoms for COVID-19 are fever, tiredness, dry cough.

As per the Suresh Tendulkar Committee report, there are around 354 million(21.9% of the population) in 2011-12 lives under the poverty line. COVID-19 has affected the economy exponentially. The government cannot afford to go for another lockdown since even more population will fall under the poverty line. To meet the basic needs of the peoples in the country government has decided to spend a huge amount from their budget to deliver the basic goods like rice and wheat to the needy through the public distribution system(PDS) for 3 months. Many celebrities and elite peoples have donated the money voluntarily through the PM cares relief fund which has helped to meet the financial aspect of the government to meet the pandemic. COVID has affected almost all industry in the economy but to specifically mention the leisure businesses like Tourism, Film Industry has affected the most since due to this pandemic, leisure is less significant to the people with
more concern for safety.

The life of day-to-day workers and the labor workers have been affected the most since they were completely dependent upon the salary from the employer to meet even the basic needs. From the economic aspect, the lives of the peoples working in the IT and Education Industry has not been affected much since they shifted the mode of working digitally through the internet. People are consuming more but they have less income so obviously people will suffer, no doubt in that one.

This is the time where nobody will get back in their lifetime if we can make the optimum use of this time by engaging ourselves in productive activities so that we can develop a new skill within ourselves. In this quarantine period, the family started spending more time interacting with their parents, children, grandma, and grandpa depending upon their relationship. The government must take initiative in creating awareness about personal hygiene and etiquette to the illiterate since it is the only solution left to us, intensifying the lockdown will only extend the profounding impact of the inevitable, extending the lockdown will push more population to fall below the poverty line will worsen the economic condition in the country where more people will die in hunger and poverty than the virus.

People have to be quick in learning to live with the virus since it is going to be with us for a long period where following social distancing and personal hygiene is going to save us from being infected with the contagion.
